The Par 69 North Course is a short yet challenging golf course ideal for those golfers new to the game or wanting to squeeze in a quick round. The narrow, undulating layout is tree lined however, low rough height, makes it easy to find a wayward ball once again aiding in good pace of play.
The Kikuyu fairways and Santa Ana couch tees provide a smooth playing surface all year round. The Santa Ana couch greens, whilst normally a little slower than the South course, provide a reliable and true putting surface through all four seasons.
Measuring in at 4,534 metres off the men’s tees with a Golf Australia Slope Rating of 107, the North course will challenge a player’s accuracy and ball control whilst still providing some good Par and Birdie opportunities.
A Par 70 for ladies measuring 4,320 metres with a Golf Australia Slope Rating of 113 ensures that most ladies will have an enjoyable round of golf with a good chance of shooting a new personal best score.
The North Course regularly plays host to Golf SA Junior events, including the yearly Secondary Schools Championship.

How to Play Notes
How to play Hole 1
Par 4, 245m, Index 14
A short opening Par 4 which moves slightly from left to right on the tee shot. Out of bounds borders the right hand side of this hole all the way to the green awaiting any faded shot. A green split into two by a small ridge through the middle places a premium on the approach shot finishing on the correct section.
How to play Hole 2
Par 4, 387m, Index 1
The hardest hole on the course greets players on the 2nd hole. With out of bounds on the left for the full length of the hole, both distance and accuracy is required to a make a par here. After a good tee shot, players are still faced with a long second shot to the small, undulated green.
How to play Hole 3
Par 4, 236m, Index 11
The 3rd hole is a reachable Par 4 for many players. In order to do this, players need to carry the tee shot over the Gum tree in the middle of the fairway before finding the medium sized slightly raised green. The conservative line is down the right hand side of the fairway which leaves a short pitch into the green.
How to play Hole 4
Par 3, 147m, Index 13
The first Par 3 on the course provides a mid or short iron slightly downhill to a large green which severely slopes away if missed on the left hand side. Shots landing short normally struggle to bounce up to this green so it’s best to try and fly it all the way onto the green.
How to play Hole 5
Par 4, 198m, Index 15
This short, uphill Par is certainly no snack. The small green with false front makes for a difficult approach shot whilst plenty of shrubs and trees lining the fairway place a premium on accuracy.
How to play Hole 6
Par 4, 287m, Index 5
A semi blind tee shot greets players on the 6th hole. This hole moves solidly from left to right, bordered by a water hazard and out of bounds down the left hand side. Tee shot placement and length is crucial to setting up relatively short approach shot into the green. It’s often best to leave the driver in the bag on this hole and ensure the ball is in the right position on the fairway.
How to play Hole 7
Par 4, 211m, Index 18
Whilst it might be rated as the easiest hole on the course, trouble is never too far away on the 7th. Out of bounds lines the left hand side of the fairway whilst the thin green requires accuracy to get the ball close.
How to play Hole 8
Par 3, 128m, Index 8
A short iron is all that is needed to reach the Par 3 8th hole. A long green with a severly sloping false front forces players to carry the carry the ball all the way to the flagstick. Any shot missing left or right provides the player with a difficult chip shot to the elevated putting surface.
How to play Hole 9
Par 4, 342m, Index 2
The second hardest hole on the course rounds out the front 9. A medium length uphill Par 4, this hole plays a lot longer than its yardage might suggest. A drive down the right hand side opens up the green and whilst this maybe the longer line in it is certainly easier than the approaching from left which brings several mature trees into play.
How to play Hole 10
Par 4, 301m, Index 7
A downhill Par 4, the fairway of the 10th slopes to the right hand side, facing players to keep their tee shot to the high side. A large Gum tree guards the green on the right hand side, whilst an approach shot from the left is reasonably straight forward. Long and right of this green can result in some large scores.
How to play Hole 11
Par 5, 409m, Index 3
The only Par 5 on the course, the 11th once again plays longer than its yardage. Out of bounds lines the hole down the left hand side. A large putting surface that slopes from back to front provides players with a good chance to setup a birdie opportunity.
How to play Hole 12
Par 4, 278m, Index 9
The 12th provides another good Par or Birdie opportunity for most players. The tee shot shapes from right to left around a pine tree and once successfully negotiated; it is only a short pitch to the flat putting surface.
How to play Hole 13
Par 3, 116m, Index 17
With the green guarded short left by a bunker and right hand side raised, it’s best to hit the surface if you want to make Par on this hole. Once on the green, players are faced with flat surface, sloping gently from front to back.
How to play Hole 14
Par 4, 316m, Index 10
A picturesque downhill Par 4, drives will roll for a good distance if the y fond the fairway. A large green is well guarded short right and to the left forcing players to be precise on not only direction but also club choice. A good hole where birdie is just as easy as double bogey.
How to play Hole 15
Par 4, 247m, Index 16
A short walk, takes players to the reachable Par 4, 15th hole. Out of bounds to the right and heavily wooded rough to the left make this hole play a lot harder than its yardage would have you believe. Tee short landing in the middle of the fairway tend to kick down to the right which actually aids to player in opening up the green for the second shot. A small green requires pin point accuracy for the
approach shot.
How to play Hole 16
Par 4, 295m, Index 4
The 16th is a straight away, uphill Par 4 with a relatively wide fairway. It’s time to open up the shoulders for one last blast with the Driver. Once on the fairway, the approach shot needs to find the putting surface to give any chance of a late round birdie.
How to play Hole 17
Par 4, 260m, Index 6
Whilst only measuring 260m, this Par 4 is genuine two shot hole. The tee shot must be played with a mid or long iron to a narrow landing area at the base of the hill and the apex of the left hand dogleg. Once you have negotiated this part of the hole, it’s a short iron straight uphill where only the top of the flagstick is normal visible. A gentle undulating green provides yet more of a challenge to complete the hole.
How to play Hole 18
Par 3, 131m, Index 12
Finishing with a short Par 3 provides players with a chance of birdie but also a good chance of bogey or worse. Protected at the front by a large bunker and sloping away severely to the right, left is only place to miss this green. The green slopes from left to right making any putt or chip from the left of hole very difficult. A satisfying hole to finish out the round with brilliant views of the Adelaide CBD.
