Mini Golf Proposal at Par 3

The City of Adelaide is considering the addition of an 18-hole Mini Golf facility at the Par 3 golf course as a new family friendly attraction.

The initiation of this proposal has been driven by the need to maintain and grow participation to maximise outcomes associated with activation, health and wellbeing, and financial sustainability.

The Council will consider the proposal at its meeting on the 4 July 2023 and the report can be viewed here.

The Par 3 course will remain open during construction and after the Mini Golf is up and running. Some minor changes to the layout of Par 3 course will be needed but these will be managed through the design and construction process.

FAQs

Yes, the Par 3 course will remain open throughout the construction and once mini golf is operating. There will be some impact on the Par 3 course layout that will be managed through the design and construction process.

The existing food and beverage operations on the site will not be impacted and will continue to operate throughout the design and construction phase.

We will work throughout the construction process to minimise any impacts on car parking as well as ensuring safe pedestrian and cycling passage is maintained through the existing roadway and across the weir.

If approved there will be a detailed design process to ensure a quality facility that is empathetic with the visual amenity of this section of parklands and respects the sites history. This will be followed by a period of stakeholder engagement before construction commences. It is anticipated that this process will take approximately 12 – 18 months.

The existing car park provides up to 100 parking spaces with alternative parking available along War Memorial Drive.
